Overview
Livelocks ("we", "us") makes an iOS app that lets you try on hairstyles in real time using your device camera. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and who we share it with. It covers the Livelocks app and this website.
What we collect
- Live camera video. While a try-on session is active, your camera feed is streamed to our AI rendering provider (fal.ai / Decart Lucy) to generate the live preview. We do not record or store this video on our servers.
- Captures on this device. Finished try-on clips can be saved on your iPhone in Captures, inside the app. Auto-save to Captures is on by default and can be turned off in Settings. These clips stay on your device; we do not receive a copy. They are not added to Photos unless you choose to save or share them.
- Device identifier. Livelocks has no accounts and no sign-in. We identify your free trial and your credit balance with an anonymous identifier generated by iOS for the app on your device. It is not your Apple ID, your name, your email, or your advertising identifier, and it is not used to track you across other apps.
- Purchase data. Credit pack and subscription purchases are processed by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive confirmation of what you bought, your subscription's renewal and expiry status, and how many live seconds it granted — not your payment details.
- Usage data. We record how many live seconds you've used and have remaining, and basic diagnostic and crash data, so the app works and billing is accurate.
How we use it
- To render live hairstyle previews during a session.
- To keep your credit balance and remaining live seconds accurate on your device.
- To process purchases and grant the live seconds you paid for.
- To diagnose bugs and keep the service reliable.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your camera video to train AI models.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run Livelocks, each acting as a data processor on our behalf:
- fal.ai / Decart — processes live camera frames to render hairstyle previews in real time.
- Convex — hosts our backend and your credit balance record.
- Apple — processes App Store purchases.
- RevenueCat — manages and reconciles in-app purchases across Apple's systems.
We don't share your data with anyone else, except where required by law.
Biometric and face data
Live try-on works by analyzing the image of your face and hair to render a style preview. This processing happens transiently, in real time, for the duration of your session, and is not retained by us or our processors after the session ends. We don't build a biometric profile of you. Captures stay on this device; Photos only if you save or share.
Data retention
Live camera frames are not retained on our servers. Captures stay on your iPhone until you delete them or the app. Credit balance and purchase records are kept for as long as needed to operate the app and to comply with tax and accounting obligations.
Your choices
- You can deny or revoke camera access at any time in iOS Settings; the app can't run a live try-on without it.
- You can turn off Auto-save to Captures in Settings so finished sessions are not written to disk.
- You can ask us to delete the record associated with your device by contacting us below.
- If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your data under GDPR or CCPA. Contact us to exercise them.
Children
Livelocks is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we'll remove the associated data.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
